Who We Are

Compassion, turned into action

Founded in 2025, Empower Next Project provides financial assistance for sober-living housing to support individuals transitioning out of treatment — and works to inform and protect whole communities.

Our story

Filling the gap that treatment leaves behind

We address a critical gap in recovery services: safe, supportive housing for individuals transitioning out of treatment. Treatment offers structure — but it doesn't provide income or a place to live. Without stability, the progress people fight so hard for is too easily lost.

Our broader commitment extends beyond housing to include overdose-prevention education, increasing access to life-saving resources, and providing youth with the knowledge and tools to make healthy choices.

Founder

Alexandra Hicks founded Empower Next Project to make sure recovery doesn't end at the treatment door. Originally from Detroit, she has spent her career overseeing day-to-day clinical programming and ensuring every client receives structured, compassionate care.

She works alongside clinical teams and frontline recovery organizations to continuously improve program quality and outcomes — and built Empower Next Project so that the people who need safe, supportive housing most can find it and afford it.
