Empower Next Steps
The Empower Next Steps Program provides scholarships for safe, supportive sober living to individuals transitioning out of treatment. By helping cover housing costs during this critical period, we give people the stability they need to focus on recovery, build healthy routines, and take the next steps toward a brighter, self-sufficient future.
Our Process
Eligibility Review
Applicants must:
- Be in treatment or recently discharged from a recognized treatment program
- Be committed to maintaining recovery
- Demonstrate financial need
- Agree to abide by the rules of the sober living environment
Application Submission
Applicants complete a scholarship application, which may include:
- Personal information and contact details
- Treatment program completion documentation
- Short statement about their recovery journey and goals
- Financial information to demonstrate need
Initial Review
- Staff reviews applications to confirm eligibility
- Incomplete applications are returned with instructions to complete missing information
Interview
Applicants may meet with a staff member or committee to:
- Discuss their recovery journey
- Answer questions about their goals and support needs
- Assess readiness for sober living
Award Determination
Scholarship committee or staff makes final decisions based on:
- Recovery commitment
- Financial need
- Availability of housing resources
Scholarship Coverage
- The scholarship covers the first month of sober living housing.
- A second month may be awarded if the recipient provides proof of employment and continued need.
